VERSTAPPEN WINS IN IMOLA
Formula One returned to Imola after a years absence and from the start of FP1 until Q3 the Red Bull really didn't look like it was taking to this track like it had in previous years with Ferrari and McLaren hoping that trend would continue into Sunday. However thankfully for Verstappen and Red Bull that wasn't the case as Max wins another race and his third in Imola. Norris finished second chasing and pushing Max right to the last lap. Leclerc finished third and is the first Ferrari driver to finish on the podium since Michael Schumacher.
Both Lando Norris (McLaren) and Max Verstappen (Red Bull) got an even start but Verstappen lead into turn one, Norris stayed second and Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) in third.
The only real bit of drama in this race was when the Williams Alex Albon left the pits and was going slowly with his tyres having not been put on properly. He’s trundling along to try and make it back to the pits. But he is now a lap down. The Thai driver does eventually make it back to the pits and is able to carry on. Albon would then retire on Lap 55.
The final three laps looked set to entertain as Norris closed the gap down to under a second to Verstappen but sadly the laps didn't keep coming for the McLaren who looked quicker than the Red Bull right at the end.
The next race is the Monaco Grand Prix.
