VERSTAPPEN TAKES VICTORY IN SINGAPORE FOR THE FIRST TIME

Round seventeen of this years this World Championship saw Formula One at Marina Bay in Singapore in a race that often delivers an exciting race but this year wasn't one of those races. It was a true Max Verstappen performance with a win from pole for the thirty nineth time in his career, for his first win in Singapore, with the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc coming home in second with Kimi Antonelli fighting his way up to third which means he could become World Champion in Austin.
It was Max Verstappen who lead into turn one despite a good start from Leclerc in second with Lewis Hamilton in third with Kimi Antonelli in fourth.
The first of three retirements came on lap eight of this race when the Audi of Gabriel Bortoleto pulled over and is out with a gearbox issue. On lap nine the VSC is deployed to help recover the stricken Audi with the green flag out on the same lap as they wheel the Audi into the pit lane.
The second retirment came on lap thirty one in the form of Franco Colapinto in the Alpine who is out after pulling over on the side of the track with a possible engine issue.
Then eight laps later on lap thirty nine it was the Aston Martin of Lance Stroll is out with a clutch problem and the VSC is deployed once again. Which then ends of the very next lap and its green flag conditions.
That really was all the action in this race. But next week we can look to a possible title decieder in Austin.
The next race is of course the US Grand Prix.
