Round seventeen of the 2025 Formula One World Championship saw us take to the streets of Baku, Azerbaijan in a race that often brings excitement and drama in a weekend that saw one of the most exciting qualifying's of the season. Verstappen took his sixth grand slam of his career winning lights to flag in a dominant race in Baku as George Russell takes yet another podium this season with Carlos Sainz who started second taking third place in a result that will feel extra special for a driver that has struggled to adapt to his new team.

It was pole sitter Max Verstappen who lead into turn one ahead of Carlos Sainz (Williams) and Liam Lawson (Racing Bull), with Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) in fourth. And it only took five corners for the drama to kick off in Baku as championship leader Oscar Piastri CRASHES into the wall after locking up as he attempts to push forward and overtake to get up the field after a poor start off the grid, and the Safety Car is deployed.

On lap five the Safety Car ends and Verstappen keeps his lead. The top three remains the same. No dramas on the restart.

Lap seventeen saw the last piece of real drama in this race as the Williams of Alex Albon and the Alpine of Franco Colapinto make contact where Piastri crashed earlier with Colapinto going into a spin and hitting the wall but the Argentine driver is able to carry on but is now plum last.

The next race is the Singapore Grand Prix.
