NORRIS WINS IN HUNGARY AS F1 HEADS INTO THE SUMMER BREAK

Round eleven, Hungary, nicknamed 'Monaco without the barriers', was the final race this season before F1 heads into its summer break and it will be reigning World Champion Lando Norris, who heads into the break the happiest with a well earned victory around the Hungaroring. Verstappen did well in a car he clearly dislikes to come home in second place, with championship leader Kimi Antonelli finishing third but most importantly in front of his closest championship rivals.

It was pole sitter Lando Norris who got away well off the line, with Oscar Piastri into second and Verstappen up to third. But the lead doesn't last long as Norris goes wide into turn three and Piastri was there to pounce and take the lead of the race. Hamilton is fourth and Leclerc down from second to fifth with a poor start from Ferrari driver.

And once again its a weekend of bad luck for George Russell on the start as his car goes into anti stall and he's sat in 21st after the first lap.

We lost the first car on lap fifteen when the Cadillac of Valtteri Bottas having to pit to retire the car with his brakes on fire.

On lap fifty one we then lost the second Cadillac of Sergio Perez who ran into a suspension issue on his front left tyre, the Mexican driver is able to limp back to the pits and its a second double DNF for Cadillac.

The moment I thought might change this race was on lap fifty six when the McLaren of Oscar Piastri pulled over... he’s out of the race with a gearbox failure! But with where the car was stopped the stewards feel that a Virtual Safety Car is deployed, giving us just half a lap of slower driving before the green flag gets the race back to full speed.

It was a race that often delivers so much but certainly failed that this year.
