ANTONELLI WINS THE BELGIAN GRAND PRIX

Round ten of this years ever dramatic title fight takes us to Spa Franchachomps, for the Belgian Grand Prix. It was Championship leader Kimi Antonelli who came out on top winning from pole but the young Italian didn't have it all his own way with Charles Leclerc keeping him honest for the majority of the race. Max Verstappen will be pleased with a third place and another podium for the Red Bull team.

Pole sitter Kimi Antonelli got away with a good start and leads into turn one, but Max Verstappen is able to pass Kimi into Eau Rouge but Kimi fights back and retakes the lead into turn five with Charles Leclerc jumping into second and Max now down into third. As the fight for the lead continues in the background and further down the grid, Russell and Hamilton made contact into turn five, with Russell forced to retire with yet more bad luck following Russell this season. The Safety Car is deployed to remove the stricken Mercedes.

We get back racing on lap five with the green flag shown. There are no changes to the front three. 

On lap ten Lewis is given a five second penalty for his collision with Russell on lap one, which he ultimately serves in his next pit stop.

The second retirement came on lap sixteen when the Cadillac of Sergio Perez is retired with a possible suspension issue.

After a handful of Virtual Safety Cars for debris on the track, Ferrari are able to take advantage as the VSC is out for more than half a lap and Ferrari pit Leclerc on lap twenty three putting him in the net race lead ahead of Antonelli.

The third and final retirement came on lap twenty seven when the Aston Martin of Lance Stroll is retired with a clutch problem.

The final moment of real action came on lap thirty four with just ten laps remaining in this race as Kimi Antonelli makes the move on the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc and the Mercedes is now back in front.

The next race is the Hungarian Grand Prix.
