Formula One was under the lights in Las Vegas for round twenty two, and in a weekend when Verstappen could have been mathematically knocked out the championship the reigning World Champion showed why you can never discount him from a title fight, as he controlled the race after taking an early lead. Lando Norris extends his lead over teammate Piastri as the British driver closes in on his maiden F1 World Championship with a second place. Mercedes driver George Russell finishes third in another good weekend for the Brit.

Pole sitter Lando Norris got a good start but runs wide into turn one and allows Max Verstappen to take an easy lead. Norris then loses second to George Russell. The race only lasted one corner for the Aston Martin of Lance Stroll who got taken out at turn one with Gabriel Bortoleto coming into the corner far too quick and nothing Stroll could do after being hit by the Sauber.

The first VSC was deployed on lap two for various yellows and cautions around the track - including a slow moving Lawson who has front wing damage, after such a promising qualifying the race result didn't quite match for the RB driver. On lap four we get the green flag and the VSC has ended. Bortoleto then pits to retire from the race after that turn one collision.

The race went from bad to worse for the Williams of Alex Albon on lap thirty seven when he retired from the race. It all started early on for Alex with a collision with Hamilton that forced him to pit for a new front wing, an incident which gets him a five second time penalty, this all with no radio to his team to compound what was 'one of those races' for the Williams driver.

The next race is the Qatar Grand Prix.
