VERSTAPPEN DOMINATES AROUND THE STREETS OF MONACO

F1 was back in the principality of Monaco for the hardest race of the season. This makes it four wins for Max Verstappen so far this year. It was a great drive from both second placed Fernando Alonso in the Aston Martin and the Alpine of Esteban Ocon who is the first French driver to finish on the podium in Monaco since 1998 when Olivier Panis won the race.

It was Max Verstappen (Red Bull) who led into turn one with Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) in second and Esteban Ocon (Alpine) in third.

On lap thirteen I managed to start watching the race as Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) decides not to pit with a damaged front wing. Sainz at this point is in fourth. The Ferrari lost an end plate after making contact with Ocon.

After 36 laps the Red Bull of Sergio Perez is forced to pit to change the front wing after Kevin Magnussen ran over the Red Bull wing going into the braking zone at the chicane after the tunnel.

Then on lap 52 it began to rain and it was heavy rain at that… the rain did add some drama to the race with several drivers sliding off into the run off zones but no was really damaged by the rain. The onlt retirements were on Lap 55 when the Aston Martin of Stroll was retired and Lap 76 when the Haas of Kevin Magnussen was also retired.

The next race is the Spanish Grand Prix.
