NORRIS WINS IN SINGAPORE TO KEEP TITLE HOPES ALIVE

Formula One was in Marina Bay, Singapore for the 18th Round of this season Championship. However at a track that can be very 50/50 in terms of excitement levels - this race didn't quite give what it needed to to be an all timer. Lando Norris dominated the race leading from start to finish and finishing over 20 seconds ahead of defending Champion Max Verstappen in second. Oscar Piastri finished third in what will be a massive boost to McLaren's Constructors title hopes as Perez finished in 10th taking home just the one point for the Milton Keynes based team.

It was of course pole sitter Lando Norris (McLaren) who got away well and ahead of Max Verstappen (Red Bull) into turn one. Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) in third, then George Russell (Mercedes) and Oscar Piastri (McLaren) making up the top five.

Just sixteen laps into the race and Norris now holds a ten second gap over Verstappen in second - Is this the Red Bull simply not working round Singapore as many would expect or is the McLaren just that quick that Norris has pulled this gap in such a short space of time?

The first retirement of the race came on lap seventeen when Alex Albon (Williams) was forced retired from the race.

Half way through this race and 31 laps in and nothing really has happened up to this point other than Albon’s very non-dramatic retirement.

Speaking of lap 31... Norris pits from the lead and comes back out comfortably in the lead having pulled over 20 seconds on Verstappen. Who also pitted and is now third behind Piastri.

It wasn't until the 39th lap when Piastri finally pits for his first stop from second. Verstappen will reclaim second with Russell taking third and Hamilton fourth. Piastri back down to fifth.

But it didn't take long for the Austalian driver to get back to the podium positions as by lap 49 Piastri is back onto the podium after passing Russell for third. He easily dispatched both Mercedes - it looks easy for the McLaren drivers…

And with two laps left it was the Haas of Kevin Magnussen who is retired from the race.

The next race is US Grand Prix.
