NORRIS WINS IN MIAMI AND BECOMES THE 114TH DIFFERENT WINNER IN FORMULA ONE

Lando Norris is a Formula One race winner for the first time in his career. After 15 podiums and no victories the man from Glastonbury can add an F1 race win to his racing CV. A well deserved win for the McLaren driver who drove superbly after gaining the lead of the race and then to pull a gap to the mighty Red Bull of Max Verstappen to go on and win the race. Incredible for Lando and McLaren who last won a race in 2021 at Monza when Ricciardo stood on the top of the podium with Lando in second. Verstappen had to settle for second with Leclerc in third.

In what was an uneventful race overall produced something that everyone is going to happy about.. A Lando Norris race win.

Max Verstappen (Red Bull) got the best start who lead into turn one as Sergio Perez (Red Bull) locks up into turn one almost taking out his teammate in the process but that put Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) into second with Oscar Piastri (McLaren) in third and Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) fourth with Perez now in fifth.

There was a small drama 23 laps in when the Virtual Safety Car (VSC) deployed for a cone which is on the racing line. Green flag on the same lap.

The real drama came on lap 28 when Kevin Magnussen (Haas) and Logan Sargeant (Williams) made contact putting the home star out of the race as Magnussen carries on - the Safety Car was deployed which helps Norris who leads after the pit stops to the drivers ahead of him.

With 27 laps to go (30/57) Lando Norris pits from the race lead and will stay in the lead.

On lap 33 the Safety Car came in and it was all down to Lando to nail the start and after he pulled the second over the Red Bull to stay out of the DRS the McLaren was simply uncatchable.

Norris holds the lead but only just ahead of Verstappen with Leclerc in third, Piastri fourth and Sainz in fifth.
