KEVIN MAGNUSSEN REPLACES MAZEPIN


It was announced today (9th March) that Danish driver Kevin Magnussen would make a return to F1 replacing the outgoing Nikita Mazepin.


Magnussen first came to F1 with McLaren in 2014. He then moved to Renault for the 2016 season and joined Haas in 2017 up until he was dropped at the end of 2020.


At McLaren he teamed up with 2009 World Champion Jenson Button. Magnussen made his debut at the 2014 Australian Grand Prix and managed his one and only F1 podium to date finishing second. He finished 11th overall in 2014.


At Renault he drove alongside Joylon Palmer. And in an uncompetitive car he finished 16th overall with a best finish of 7th at the Russian Grand Prix.


And then was with Romain Grosjean for his entire time at Haas for 2022 he will partner Mick Schumacher. At Haas his best finish was 8th at the 2018 Austrian Grand Prix.
