DE VRIES WILL RACE FOR ALPHA TAURI IN 2023 AS GASLY HEADS TO ALPINE

Mercedes Young Driver and F2 and FE champion Nyck de Vries will join Tsunoda at Alpha Tauri for next year replacing the outgoing Pierre Gasly who confirms his move to Alpine on the same day. De Vries had his first chance to race in F1 earlier this year in Monza covering for an ill Alex Albon and the dutchman showed why he should be in the sport out scoring Latifi. After much speculation Gasly has joined Alpine.

It will be good to see what de Vries can do with a full time seat at Alpha Tauri and how he will cope with the pressure put on drivers by the Red Bull program. The dutch driver comes with quite the CV having won the 2020/21 Formula E championship with Mercedes and the 2019 Formula 2 title with DAM's.

Gasly will replace the outgoing Alonso at Alpine as he partners up with fellow countryman Esteban Ocon. A line-up which on paper looks very strong but of course it depends on the car which Alpine can develop for 2023. Both drivers have one win in F1 and have had very similar careers up to this point and it will be interesting to keep an eye on how that relationship progresses.

With these two moves now confirmed the only seats that remain are at Williams and Haas.
