In this 26 part series of posts I will be going through the alphabet and for each letter, a profile piece on an obscure driver - some you may have heard of before some you may never knew even sat in an F1 car let alone raced one. I have chosen a driver for each letter choosing them based on their surnames.

Karun Chandhok was one of the first drivers to ever race for Hispana Racing Team (HRT). A team which was never (due to lack of funding) able to make it to the front of the field and ultimately never scoring a point in the three years they competed in F1 (2010 - 2012). Chandhok was partnered with Bruno Senna for his first full season in F1 in 2010.

Due to the lack of speed in the HRT Chandhok was never able to fight towards the front or put in a competitive lap time. Late on into the 2010 season Karun was slowly pushed out of the team and replaced by Japanese driver Sakon Yamamoto.

During his two years in F1 Chandhok raced for the fore-mentioned HRT and Lotus in 2011, where he was given a slightly better car but still nowhere near competitive.

Chandhok made a total of 11 races starting all of them. Debuting at the 2010 Bahrain Grand Prix and making his last F1 appearance at the 2011 German Grand Prix.
