VERSTAPPEN TAKES VICTORY AT THE STYRIAN GRAND PRIX

In the first of the two races at Austria - it was Max Verstappen who takes his 14th career victory ahead of the chasing Hamilton in second and Bottas takes third just half a second ahead of the very quick Sergio Perez.

It was a good start for Max of the line and the Dutchman was leading into turn one ahead of the chasing pack. The tricky turn three proved to be that today as the Alfa Romeo of Giovinazzi spun round causing the Alpha Tauri of Pierre Gasly and the Williams of Nicholas Latifi to both get rear tyre punctures - both pitting on the same lap - Latifi was able to carry on unfortunately the same couldn't be said for Gasly as he was retired with suspension damage. Leclerc was also caught up in that and took damage dropping him to last and made a brilliant recovery drive to get seventh place. George Russell (Williams) makes a good start from 10th getting into 7th.

On lap 25 - Hamilton had a scary moment on the exit of turn five as he had to catch the rear of the car almost spinning out and touching a rear tyre onto the gravel.

Two laps later (27) Russell pits from seventh with the tyres coming off and on well but a tweak was made on the side pod dropping the British driver to seventeenth. Then on lap 39 - Russell's race went from bad to worse as Russell was forced to retire with mechanical issues - sadly points in a Williams may have to wait a bit longer.

The next race is the Austrian Grand Prix.
