ALEX ALBON RETURNS TO F1 WITH WILLIAMS IN 2022

Red Bull driver Alex Albon will make his F1 return next year when he partners Nicholas Latifi for 2022 - Albon was one of the many names being thrown about when it was confirmed that Russell would be moving to Mercedes.

Alex Albon made his Formula One debut in 2019 with Toro Rosso - now Alpha Tauri and was eventually promoted to Red Bull halfway through the season due to his strong performances replacing Pierre Gasly who struggled at the top team.

Alex took his first podium in F1 last year at Mugello where he finished in third - he then repeated his success at Sakhir finishing third once more - unfortunately due to a string of poor performances Albon was dropped from Red Bull and because of the situation the sport as a whole and was replaced by Sergio Perez.

Red Bull team boss Christian Horner has said in many interviews of late that Red Bull rate Alex very highly and that he deserves to be in F1. Let's hope next year with the mass regulation change that Williams are able to at least fight for good points.

The next big question in terms of the driver market is who will partner Valtteri Bottas at Alfa Romeo?
