BOTTAS WINS IN BAKU

It was second time lucky for Valtteri Bottas in Baku, Azerbaijan. After a puncture cost him victory in 2018 - Bottas finally had things go his way, with pole and then a dominant drive from start to finish holding off team-mate Lewis Hamilton in the process.

Mercedes took yet another one-two finish this weekend at Baku, with Ferrari seemingly quite far back from the two silver arrows. To be honest the race was with little action (unlike previous years) until Ricciardo (Renault) reversed into his former Red Bull team-mate Kvyat (Toro Rosso), which eventually ended in retirement for both drivers, other non-finishers included Romain Grosjean for HAAS.

The fastest lap went to Bottas which means he finished the race with a total of 26 points for the second time this season. Putting him top of the championship with 86 points just one point ahead of Hamilton.

The top five finished as follows;

1. Bottas

2. Hamilton

3. Vettel

4. Verstappen

5. Leclerc

The next race is in Barcelona - where the European part of the season kicks off.
