The young Thai - British driver who raced to third place in the 2018 F2 Championship with DAMS, has had his dream phone call from Helmut Marko...

Albon will race alongside Daniil Kvyat in the Toro Rosso as Albon becomes the fourth rookie to line up on the grid for 2019 along with Norris (McLaren), Russell (Williams) and Giovinazzi (Sauber).

Albon becomes only the second Thai driver in F1 history after Prince Birabongse during the fifties.

“I've always been motorsport mad, and since I first got in a car it's been my dream to be in Formula 1. To be given this opportunity is just incredible."

During his title contending season the young Thai driver racked up a total of 4 wins and 3 pole positions.
