NORRIS DOMINATES THE DUTCH GRAND PRIX FOR SECOND CAREER WIN

Formula One returned from its summer break and arrived at Zandvoort in the Netherlands for championship leader Max Verstappen's home race and a race since the return of the Dutch Grand Prix only he has won. But McLaren are possibly the quickest team in F1 at the moment and the team from Woking took full advantage of that as Norris takes his second win this season and his second career win as he finished over 20 seconds ahead of Verstappen in second. Leclerc takes third.

It was an even start for Lando Norris (McLaren) and Max Verstappen (Red Bull) but in the end it was Verstappen who lead into turn one. Another start where Norris couldn't get it right but thankfully this time for Norris it didn't matter. George Russell (Mercedes) is up to third passing Oscar Piastri (McLaren) also into turn one.

The only real part of drama that wasn't that dramatic took place on lap eighteen when Norris took the lead from Verstappen who was struggling for grip. It possibly took longer than Norris wanted but he now has the lead of this race.

On lap twenty eight it was the start of the pit stops as Verstappen pits from second and returns to the track in fifth. Norris leads from Piastri and Sergio Perez (Red Bull) in third.

On the very next lap Norris pitted from the lead and drops down to fourth but is crucially ahead of Verstappen and comfortably so. Piastri leads from Perez and Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) are yet to pit.

By the thirty fourth lap the top three who hadn’t pitted have now all stopped and Norris leads from Verstappen by around six and a half seconds with Leclerc in third and Russel fourth, Piastri fifth.

62 laps in and with ten laps left Norris leads Verstappen by over 16 seconds. Leclerc has held onto third from a very quick Piastri behind.

McLaren came, saw and conquered Zandvoort - this Championship fight is well and truly ON!

The next race is the Italian Grand Prix.
