Round twenty of this season saw us in Mexico City for the Mexican Grand Prix - a race that was ultimately controlled by the McLaren of Lando Norris who from FP2 when he first got in the car has dominated the rest of the grid. A seventh win this season for Lando as he continues his push for a first World Championship. Ferrari take second with Leclerc but now have gone a full year without a race victory and late title challenger Max Verstappen finishes third.

It was Lando Norris who managed to get the better launch over Charles Leclerc in second. Heading into turn one Max Verstappen locks up into turn one and is down to fourth. With the Aston Martin of Lance Stroll goes spinning but is able to carry on right at the back. Oscar Piastri is down from seventh to ninth in a start which would have been worst case scenario for the Australian driver.

It all kicked off on lap six with Verstappen and Hamilton going wide at separate corners with George Russell trying to pass Max but also going wide with Ollie Bearman now up to fourth place.

A move into turn one from Max on Lewis causes the domino effect which leads to Bearman now being sat in fourth place.

We lost the Racing Bull of Liam Lawson on lap nine.

Ten laps after he ran wide the Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton is given a ten second penalty for gaining an advantage at the turn two/three complex.

It was on lap twenty four when Lewis pitted to serve his penalty and goes from third to fourteenth. Putting Ollie Bearman sits in third place in the Haas after Hamiltons stop a very impressive race from the young driver.

We lose our second driver in the form of Nico Hulkenberg who was forced to retire with what seems to be a power unit issue on lap twenty eight.

Then on lap thirty six the Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso is retired from the race.

And one lap from the end of lap seventy the Williams of Carlos Sainz has come to a stop, which forces a Virtual Safety Car which robs us of a final lap battle between Verstappen and Leclerc for second and with Bearman and Piastri for fourth place.

The next race is the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Norris leaves Mexico now leading the World Championship with just four races left and taking his first win since Hungary.
